Who we are?
Brief project history and information about LUWRAIN developers
Michael Pozhidaev, the author of the LUWRAIN project, lost his eyesight in 2002 as a student at Tomsk State University, but this didn't become an obstacle to continuing his studies. To cope with the new challenges, he began developing programs that could help blind people in learning and daily life. This is how the LUWRAIN project was born in 2012, an idea that soon turned into a large-scale and significant undertaking. LUWRAIN has become the main embodiment of Michael's efforts aimed at creating affordable and convenient solutions for people with visual disabilities. In 2016, Elena Teplykh became an integral part of the development team.
An important aspect of the project is its openness. In accordance with his beliefs, Michael made LUWRAIN a completely open and free project in the tradition of Open Source. This means that the source code of the program is available for study, modification and distribution, which contributes to its further development and improvement by the developer community.
LUWRAIN is a symbol of the fact that even in the most difficult situations you can find a way to self-realization. The project continues to evolve, offering new solutions and opportunities for blind people, and remains an important contribution to creating a more accessible and inclusive society.
